February 14 Problem Solving for your horse
From horses that don’t lead well or are always on top of
you to horses that won’t stand still while you mount, learn solutions to help
solve the problem. Many people have “problems” with their horse. Frequently, the actual problem stems from a
lack of clear communication and understanding between the horse and human.
Using techniques that work with the horse’s natural ways of communicating
participants will learn how to turn problems into positive habits.
Location:
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (1 hour break for lunch, bring
your own lunch)
Cost: $100.00

Trailer loading Clinic
How many people does it take to get your horse onto a
trailer? Do you dread going places because your horse won’t get on the trailer?
Does your horse put up a fight and run to the other side of the pasture when
the trailer shows up? Come learn how to make those situations a distant memory!
Jim McDonald will teach techniques to help bring the fighting and frustration
to an end. A trailer is a scary place to a horse, and with calm and patient
practice any horse can learn to self load any and every time! No more bribing
your horse into the trailer with grain.
No more butt ropes, no more trying to force or scare your horse into the
trailer. If your horse is unsafe to
trailer to the clinic, then this clinic is for you! Leave your horse at home,
and come practice techniques to help you work through those problems. A limited
number of horses to work with will be available upon inquiry.
Location:
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (1 hour break for lunch, bring
your own lunch)
Cost: $100.00; Auditors welcome for $25.00
June 27 Trail Riding Clinic
Do you dream of moseying
down a shady trail with your horse only to have reality intrude with your horse
creeping fearfully down the trail spooking and shying at every stump and
blowing leaf? This clinic focuses on the goal of creating a safe and enjoyable
trail riding experience for you and your horse. Through communication
techniques that work with the horse’s nature, learn to build your horse’s
confidence through challenges in the arena. Then apply these techniques to teach
the horse to calmly approach and negotiate an obstacle while out on the trail. The morning session is spent in the arena and
after lunch we go on a Trail ride to continue to build skills.
Location:
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cost: $100.00
August 15 Think Soften Act: A strategy for calm effective communication with your horse
So often we get
right to the aids, cues and mechanics without giving a thought to the
preparation for the request. This clinic
will teach you how to use softness in your body to create a pre cue to the
horse. You will learn how to teach your
horse that softness in you means that you are about to make a request of your
horse. When you soften he will get ready
and be available for you to make a request.
Then we must be clear and make the request in a way that makes sense to
the horse. Learn these techniques on the
ground, and then carry over the understanding into the saddle.
Location:
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cost: $100.00
October 17 The Day of the Horse
December 05 Fear of Riding Clinic
Whether it is from
an accident or you are just fearful of an animal that is a whole lot bigger
than you are, fear is a reality for many who love horses. Fear is something to
be respected, and not overlooked. We overcome fear through being confident that
we have complete control at all times.
In this clinic you will learn a step by step process of building
confidence through control. Through
working on control in incremental steps, the more confidence you can build, the
more fears will become a thing of the past. This clinic will help change your
focus to move through fear and build confidence, even in the event of a
setback.
Location:
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cost: $100.00
